Sheehy, who has drummed for the Stones' Ronnie Wood and Van Morrison, will join Martin in an acoustic power duo when they tour Australia this month. Their sound was born one night in Ireland when Sheehey's elaborate percussion set-up was left in a broken-down van and he fell back on the only drum kit available at the gig.

Together, Sheehy and Martin improvised the whole show, where Sheehy's drumming "fuelled my fire again for that rock'n'roll sound," Martin says. "Wayne and I had never played like that before. It was amazing to hear his drumming style, because he is considered globally one of the premier percussionists."
