I love RATMs music...but I have lost all respect for them as people...

I don't see how they're "exploiting" young people's minds. The vast majority of fans don't even give a shit about the political aspect of the band, they just love them because the music kicks mega-arse. If it wasn't for the phenominal sound and energy of their songs, their fan-base would've been quite small. And even if they don't believe in everything they're in the "guise" of, the things they're promoting (even if they don't really care, they're still bringing awareness to things) are mostly very good causes. And it makes for something more interesting than the average lyrics, image, etc. It's a cool concept, a great flavour. They don't care, the fans don't care, but everyone has fun, so what does it matter? Sure, dishonesty is despicable... but even if they blinged it up and said "we love money! Give us some!" people would still swarm to them in masses, so I don't see how their false image makes that much of a difference.

BDO 2008

Postby gr_cunt_eg » Wed Jan 23, 2008 8:16 am

Rage was fucking solid last night. awesome show and the crowd was well pumped for it right through the show.

I think their set is fairly similar each time though, a few extras thrown in from self titled which was solid. but other then that fairly similar to the BDO set lists.

Had a fucking ball though.
Zack seemed a bit buggered about half way but that's because they were getting stuck in. Got right back into though and easily the same energy as 96.

werd.

"WO-OH!" they sucked! :pfft:

R.A.t.M. on the other hand rocked the fuckin' house like no other band I'd seen before. Multiple Mexican waves before the band came out and when they did come out, EVERYONE that I could see in the seats in the entire Entertainment Centre, was standing up and getting into it. Amazing energy. They nailed the songs and they sounded great. Only a very small amount of "blah blah" from Zack (not including normal lyrics :P ) and a great chemistry of a brotherly bond with no ill feelings between the members, who stood with their arms around each other's shoulders at the very end.
