Radio shock-jock Stan Zemanek has died at the age of 60 after a long battle with a brain tumour.
Zemanek drew huge groups of admirers and enemies through his nationally syndicated late-night talkback program, where he mocked any callers who disagreed with him.
He once famously derided an antagonist with the riposte "you boofhead, you dickhead, you low-life scumball" and later came under fire for havng actors call the show posing as listeners.
Zemanek also hosted the most recent incarnation of Beauty and the Beast on Foxtel and, briefly, on Ten.
He died in his Sydney home, where he had been receiving pallative care.
