Hmmm... if I was to choose a delay now, I'd probably go for a Line 6 DL-4... but I've never tried a gigadelay
I touched her hand... her hand touched her boob. By the transitive property, I got boob! Algebra's awesome!

The DD20 is awesome and i havent even learned how to use it that much. I havent tried a DL4 but I have heard they have reliability issues. Heaps of people use them though. You can pick up the DD20 for around 300 if you look hard. I think the Line 6 is probably a lot dearer.

At the moment im trying to decide between a L6 Verbzilla and the boss RV5.

yeah i need a nice reverb pedal too - i dig the RV5 sound that dave gets in Superb Lyrebird, so i think im gonna go for that.

I havent tried the DL4 either... just researched. and plus its like double the price of the DD20. though, if you can control feedback with an expression pedal, then i reckon it would be worth it just for that. can it?

i just got the Dredg "Live at the Fillmore" cd, and it sounds exactly like that above - he has feedback control through an expression pedal. how much do i want to be able to do that!

*end ramble*

How's the Dredg CD? I'm definitely gonna get that soon - did you have to order it in? With Mark from Dredg, he uses a bunch of different reverb and delays - he's got a ton of dry effects!

I'm really happy with my Electro Harmonix reverb, it does everything I need and gets the exact sound I want. I was contemplating the RV5 when I was looking for a reverb, looks like a great pedal.

What's the DD-20 like? I think Oceansize use DD-20s

i havent listened to the whole disc as yet, i only picked it up this morning - i pre-ordered it and just got it but ill listen to it all the way through this arvo. so far sounds pretty good - decent quality, and they tend to kind of jam out a bit on their tracks which is cool. its just great to hear some of the effects and stuff done in a live environment.

the DD20 is great - its definitely the favorite of all of my pedals. its got 4 presets and a manual mode. plenty of different delay types - standared, ping pong, analog, reverse, and modulated delay (my fave) and others as well as a looper of up to 100 seconds.

The digital display is awesome - you can toggle between Milliseconds or BPM - which is great if your playing to a click or whatever to get that precise timing. you can also change the note value of the delay - semibreve, minim, dotted minim, crotchet, dotted crotchet, quaver, dotted quaver, triplet quaver, quaver with apoggitura...

if you like to pinpoint the rhythms of your delays, then this is the delay unit you need. for this reason i think it is why it is better than the DL4. But once again i cant comment on the sounds of the DL4, but for me the DD20 is pretty damn impressive
