The Red Paintings had their musical gear flogged in Adelaide earlier this week while on tour with The Dresden Dolls. The bands van was broken into after it had been left in a car park and an estimated $30,000 worth of equipment stolen. It is the second time the band have been ripped off in Adelaide
The Red Paintings took to the stage with borrowed equipment but were unable to integrate the regular on-stage visual painting of human canvases element into the show as the painting equipment was also stolen.
Singer and guitarist Trash McSweeney (pictured) was predictably despondent and toyed with the crowd about not returning Adelaide. He later joined The Dresden Dolls on stage for a well received version of Tears For Fears 'Mad World'.
