Techniques to stimulate the vestibule

Perhaps he just has a great sense of humour and uses it to not offend the people/interviewers he wishes not to talk too...

If it was an elaborate excuse to get rid of the press, kudos to him cos it's hilariously ingenuous. If he truly believed that an asteroid would hit, well Matt we're all going to die it doesn't matter how far you run ^^b

But again, it's nor far-fetched to believe in life in outer space or asteroids colliding with the earth (which has already happened anyway). As for "aliens", anyone that doesn't believe that life can exist anywhere in the vast regions of space are a little arrogant to think that we are the only living creatures. I'm not saying there are spaceships and crazy space battles in space or abductions. Just saying that there has to be more out there then just us wee humans.

You may all point and laugh now 8)

I don't think Matt is insane or a nut. I'd describe him as "interesting". ;)

In terms of the alien stuff... wasn't there some kind of dead micro-organisms found on Mars? Or did I imagine that?

I do that often...

They found fossilized bacteria-like structures in a meteorite fragment.

The fact that space is undiscovered, that we only really know about what we can see through telescopes and probes that can't transmit very far, to me just means we haven't the resources to determine whether or not there's life in space. There are other solar systems so who knows what other solar systems exist in regions that are undiscovered.

Just recently in Isreal new species were found in an undiscovered cave.

Yahoo article wrote:JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israeli researchers announced that they had discovered several new terrestrial and aquatic species in a cave in the centre of the country, including a blind scorpion.

"We found eight kinds of invertebrates unknown to science around 120 metres (400 feet) underground," Professor Amos Fromkin of Jerusalem's Hebrew University told a press conference.

For interest sake: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/israelsciencescorpion

So if we have species even on this planet that continue to be discovered, what's to say that there isn't a LOT more we don't know of in the universe.

The problem with humanity is that we're arrogant, we take for granted what we know as fact to be fact cos we said so. But didn't explorers first say the earth was flat? Now aren't we laughing at the poor fools that observed that as "fact"?

It's speculation anyway, we won't know till we have technology that proves us otherwise, in the mean time I'll just keep believing that there is more and it's just undiscovered :D

I have a few eccentric theories on life and the universe myself

I'm more inclined to believe Channy's explanation
I touched her hand... her hand touched her boob. By the transitive property, I got boob! Algebra's awesome!

I hate to tell you guys but Matt really does believe this stuff. It's in everything you read about him, all over the official site and even in the biography (book) written about him.

He's actually a UFOlogist and believes in loads of alien crap. He also reads lots on conspiracy theories and lots of books. Several songs are inspired by books (Citizen Erased and Ruled By Secrecy for examples).

Quite frankly he's a bit weird. But he really DOES believe all this alien stuff and most likely the asteroid thing too. Although I hadn't heard that specifically as being official though.

Some of his views remind me of Scientology actually and I read somewhere he might be one. He's odd.

I don't believe everything I hear or read no matter how 'official' it is.

*cynic*

What about if Matt says it himself? Most of this is based on stuff he has said.

Unfortunately you can't get any more proof other than what people know about him and what he says. Unless you somehow get inside his mind.

For instance I could argue that Amunhra doesn't have a cat. Maybe it's just a stray cat that hangs out in the garbage, or a neighbour's cat. How do I know it's hers? :o Yes, she tells me it is and I have seen it with her, but is it really her cat? :P
