I think that is a little harsh it can be your onion I guess....

There has been some fine Australian movies especially of in the past 10 years but even before that...

Romper Stomper, Gallipolli, Breaker Morant, Little Fish, The Proposition, The Erskineville Kings, Mad Max, Lantana (my personal favourite),
The Bank, Two Hands....fuck the list is huge I think for Australian cinema, these are just what I can be bothered typing in 30 seconds

in the "horror" genre - Razorback, Picnic At Hanging Rock stand out to me..

yes there have been appalling bits of dross but there have been just as many gems....

Also The Boys and Metal Skin rate highly in my book...not to mention Moulin Rouge...

I was making a reference to this particular statement.

Anyway in my humble onion more crap than gems comes out of America. But crap is generally what sells. After all it is show business.

harldy culturally retarded...

All I was saying is that I get the direct impression that Australian's are intended to love and respect Australian film because it is just that...Australian. We're aparently supposed to look past our own personal taste's and opinions and just...love it.

I'm not saying there hasn't been Australian film, there clearly has been, and most have liked or even taken to it.

The bottom line is I haven't seen one Australian film that I have liked.

Why? so you can break them down to a logic only you will understand and through vivid themes and conitations, relate them back to australian films thus proving some pertinacious point of how I dont know what i'm talking about?
