That is exactly why.
I remember talking to Kerry and he was saying how he didn't really "feel" SK's music, and loved what MM9 did. A few weeks later he was out of SK...

I don't see what the problem is. It's just about multitasking, organisation, prior planning etc. There's no reason why they can't dedicate equal time to both projects.

I remember a while back there was talk of amalgamating the 2 projects, but Dan was against it, wanting to keep SK for himself, which I totally understand...

I agree sort of but I think to really give it a go in one project or the other something will have to give. One will have to be the priority.

At this level it will not matter. But to step up to the touring nationally at bigger venues then I think it becomes an issue.

just from personal experience and I was nowhere near the levels of even having international supports with bands...I was in two bands and one took priority ie. if we both got gigs on the same day one would be the band that "won" out so to speak. Practises where more important for one band than another...

in the same boat right now.... 2 bands, 2 projects (all embryonic) but eventually decisions will have to be made...

just my opinion....

but Patton already had a reputation which he built up solidly with Faith No More. He was already solidly entrenched in the public's eye in a musical sense before channelling himself to other projects such as Bungle, Fantomas, Tomahawk and all all the other things that supertalented freak does.

Not saying that these projects were not already underway when he joined FNM. The first Bungle came out after The Real Thing or Angel Dust? can't remember anymore. He was in Bungle before FNM?

Look at Nucleus \ APC. I doubt this would have been achieveable before Nucleus had a rep...

The Bungle Debut came out after the Real Thing...

You doubt? You can't prove a thing, it's just speculation on your part.

SK & MM9 appeal to 2 different audiences IMO....

The argument seems to have come full circle.

So is it going to be hard when they get bigger with bigger commitments?

Or is it going to be easier when they get bigger with greater recognised acheivements because they wilkl already have a solid rep?

1. of course it's speculation.... it is also an opinion. My opinion to be precise. No I can't prove a thing, not really trying too. But nonetheless my speculations are valid.

2. Who cares if they appeal to two different audiences not the point

gr - the arguement has NOT come full circle

Valid in what respect?
You have nothing to base this on...

It's a big part of the main point...

nothing to base this on..?

My own personal experience of about 14 years. Watching other people in bands especially the ones that have more than one project going. Little chats here and there picking up whatever I can on the nature of this industry we all want so much to break into...

My own take on the situation after knowing Kerry and Ben for ages now.

No but I have nothing to base this on...

I am sorry I forgot we can't have opinions contrary on here...

seriously...
