I agree with what Dom said about people from outside the Shire being involved but if you want to stereotype "people of middle eastern appearance" then we can stereotype these people into the "people of caucausian surf culture appearance"

As for not everyone participating they may not have been they where just standing idly by whilst women of ethnic origin where assaulted and middle easterners where bashed.

im just trying to tell the real story, of what actually happened. Otherwise known as an eye witness account.

However, if you all choose to believe the media and what they have told you then go ahead. Its not like the media ever sensationalises things is it???

i never denied that there was racism in the crowd, im just saying that for the majority of people down there it didnt start like that nor were they participating. And dont sit on ur high horse and say "standing by and watching is participating" or "why didnt you stop it". Have you ever tried to stop a raging mob of drunken muscle bound dickheads??? The day started just like Australia day, national pride a plenty and the beer flowing. The majority of the crowd were just mingling around, chatting and were well behaved.

And how many people were of NON caucasian appearance?

Would I have been allowed to mingle without fear of being attacked because of my race or appearance??

I am not sitting on any high horse by the way. We are debating an issue. Have you noticed I have not attacked you in any way shape or form. Yet you trot out the beautiful ad hominem attack of "sitting on my high horse" you don't know me from a bar of soap but yet you categorise my opinions into an attack on my character. I wasn't talking about YOU. But 4800 people acting together can stop things. Why are you feeling so threatened?

Stop trying to attack the man and have a rational discussion. This is how violence first starts with emotive language which turns to physical action. When dialogue moves from the realm of arguement to the realm of attacking each other as people that is where I leave the discussion.

i agree, 4800 could have stopped it happening. But, personally, i had no idea what was even going on. I had to watch the news on sunday night to find out what actually happened.
