There are children starving throughout the world.

Get over it...

You should probably think about writing a decent song with a decent band before making a decent video, Scott.

On a more serious note - I have often wondered about the point of a small local band actually making a video.

I mean - let's think of where it could get played: Channel V, Rage, MTV?

I don't think I have ever seen a local bands video on Channel V for anyone with a "stature" less than say.... Karnivool

Rage - you may get played at about 4am.... noddabad exposure to around 3 people who are at home on a saturday night.

MTV - I don't think I have seen ANY local bands video on MTV ever....

And let's be honest here, none of us would have heard about "Haier" unless:

a) You didn't play in the Locus Scene or
b) You didnt post on this forum

So I would be interested to know how you can justify spending your money on something that, in my opinion and at this stage in your "career" seems as useful as tits on a bull.

It can be a good oportunity for two sides to take advantage of...
up and coming photographers and film makers and bands alike.

and if it turns out really good it can look pretty schmick in an EPK.

but yeah, as for self funding... nah.

Exactly.

We only had to pay for the space ($15p/h) and some food for the extras.

Basically we did it because we could, it was offered to us (we didnt seek this girl out she approached us), she has a decent resume for someone just getting started (she did blue king browns last video).

We have no chance of getting it on commerical TV, but thats not the point. Its more about the internet, youtube, MySpace etc.

And thats why we did it.
