Doing it for Australia … Daniel Barham, left, Corey Aylett and Cole Louis show off their tattoos in Blacktown last night.
Sydney tattoo shops have experienced a surge in requests for patriotic designs since the Cronulla riots in December 2005.
Corey Aylett waited until his 18th birthday on Monday to get a tattoo of a boxing kangaroo. The sheetmetal worker from Blacktown said flag designs were popular among his friends.
"Everyone is getting them; I have a mate with an Australian flag and a mate with a map of Australia and the Southern Cross," Mr Aylett said. "We just love our country, I guess."
