Thank you SO much for stating the obvious...

BJN wrote:i can say a band like the Beach Boys were important and influential and made great music and still not actually like them.

Of course you can. But there is no way in hell you can compare the impact that the Beach Boys had to the fucking Stooges.

The Beach Boys influence on modern music, especially in regards to songwriting and studio techniques is UNDENIABLE...

BJN wrote:Personally, i think they're annoying and suck

Ok, you are obviously musically retarded...

BJN wrote:they pretended to be all nice and happy when really they hated eachother.

What?
Where did you hear/read this?

Like any band, they had their differences, but they didn't hate each other at all. On the contrary. The 3 brothers, and Mike, their cousin, all love/loved each other very much.

And how did they "pretend" to be all happy?
At the beginning. they pretty much were happy.
But as time went on, a lot of the subject manner of their songs was actually quite melancholy, and centred around loss etc...they, especially Brian, were very open about that side of things...

You have no idea...

BJN wrote:But i still objectively aknowledge their place in history and craftwork of their songs.

Well, it's a little hard to refute it...

BJN wrote:i'm asking people to be objective about this, if at all possible.

I'm the most objective person I know.

The Stooges are a pile of steaming shit...

That's like saying "I haven't bothered listening to Black Sabbath because i don't like Ozzy Osbourne. And personally, i DON'T like Ozzy Osbourne but i love Black Sabbath.
The Stooges isn't just Iggy Pop. It's the Asheton Brothers. And Dave Alexander, in the original line up.

Undeducated, yes. Retarded, maybe.

OK, The Beach Boys weren't a great example and saying they "suck" is definitely oversimplyfing my dislike of them. They ARE annoying (to me, subjectively), because they do grate on my nerves.

As for "deserving to die" ...that's retarded. Death is not a punishment, we all fucking die and quite frankly i'm looking forward to it.

Technically, maybe. But seeing I'm not musically retarded, it seems I had a good idea of how the Stooges would sound before hearing them. And I just found out I was right!

I refuse to believe Cog - The new normal is an "essential recording".
