The fact is that when tickets went on sale people did not expect to have to fork out extra money for Big Day Out tickets. I think it's unfair that those people who missed out should have to pay extra beause it's not an extra allocation of tickets, they've just withheld 10 000 tickets. There was nothing in the original ad that said "the first 50 000 tix are this price, but the final 10 000 are extra" because the ad clearly said that Big Day Out tickets were whatever price they were advertised for.
And regardless of the "get off your arse and get tickets earlier" attitude, the fact is that regardless of speed of sellout, there is and still would have been 10 000 people who missed out who deserve to pay the original advertised price. The organisers claim to be stifling scalpers profits but thats absolutely not the case - if they were to sell them at the original price (and nothing's stopping them), theere would be far less demand for scalpers tickets.
To me it completely smacks of greed.
