Soundwave Festival 2010

Postby Chantel » Wed Aug 05, 2009 2:10 pm

The steady drip-feed of next year’s Soundwave Festival bill has continued this week, with organisers unveiling another name. As revealed by the Soundwave Twitter feed, British pop-punk upstarts You Me At Six will be making the journey down under in summer.

This announcement follows on from last week’s revelation that Kentucky sextet Emarosa will be amongst the hardcore parade. These latest acts join Dance Gavin Dance and The Creepshow as definites.

As expected, rumours of potential headliners are rife. As reported on FL last week, Brody Dalle told Triple J that Spinnerette is looking at a February visit. Canadian punk rockers Billy Talent also told us they’ll be here in early-2010, with Alexisonfire also talking up a return to give recent album Old Crows/Young Cardinals a live workout. From some of the big names that are being bandied about, we’re confident Soundwave will have no trouble one-upping 2009 drawcards Nine Inch Nails.

Two words.*

FUCK
SOUNDWAVE

...Seriously. Why would would you want a reason to go to that god-awful festival? :brood:

*provided that "Soundwave" is counted as one word. And same with "FUCK", since that's possibly from an acronym for the worst law in British history. "Fornication Under the Consent of the King", or in other words, government approved (and enforced) rape.

FNM is as good a reason as any.

Also, last year watching AIC and NIN was most enjoyable...

Good to hear FNM on top of the list. I hope to hell that they do sideshows though, because there is only one other band i am mildly interested in seeig from that list - No Doubt.
