Birds of Tokyo Tour Aug-Sept 08

One of Australia’s hardest-gigging bands, Birds Of Tokyo is again loading up the Tarago for a national tour to spread the word on new album Universes. FasterLouder is pleased as punch to be riding shotgun, too.

Having sold out every date on their ‘Silhouettic’ single tour in May, it’s no surprise the boys are keen to get out there again. Universes is due out in Australia on 5 July, giving ample time for the songs to sink in before the tour kicks off in Fremantle on 21 August. If you’re a fan, you know what to expect: high-voltage live shows that fire right through to the final note. Don’t dawdle when the on-sale date comes around – tickets won’t hang around long.

Birds Of Tokyo’s ‘Universes’ tour will pack out the following venues in August/September. Tickets on sale nationally from 10 July.

I remember, back in the old days (a long, long, long time ago), The Locus Scene playing a gig or two with Birds of Tokyo at the Transit Lounge and now BoT are playing the Metro main room... wow, things have changed. If only The Locus Scene were still supporting. Anyways, I hope they can fill the place up (though I don't want to have to rush to buy my ticket).

I went to buy my ticket the other week and apparently it wasn't coming up on the computers at Ticketek. What does that mean?

Has anyone already bought a ticket? I'm guessing it's just a glitch on behalf of Ticketek. I'm probably going to try buying a ticket through metro theatre direct at their box office.

And now it's sold out. Well that's F'd.

But Ron (and The Magical Yamez) wants me to be at the Excelsior (for Rook and Superb Lyrebird), so I guess it works out OK.

Shame (for me) that the Wollongong gig is on a Thurs. night. Oh well, I guess I'm going to miss them AGAIN this year.

The new album sounds great though, so at least I have that.
