Virgin Group chairman Sir Richard Branson confirmed long standing rumours his V Festival will bow in Australia next March, teaming up with Aussie promoter Michael Coppel Presents. It will be a single day event taking in two or three cities, most likely Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Richie launched V Festival in Britain 10 years ago, and took it to Canada and the U.S this month. Point to ponder: when the Who said they were coming here early 2007, people assumed they'd do Big Day Out or Byron Bay's bluesfest. But given that the 'Oo are doing US dates for V, would they do it for Vs first festival?

Looks like a typical English festival lineup, pretty boring. But yeah Gnarls Barkley looks cool, as do The Pixies but I doubt that they still have it.
