Yes and it was a good gig too. Who was the fill-in drummer? What band is he from?

That was my mate Luke. He mainly drums for blues band, does session work - he's off to the States soon to do some work.

Ok, I think I've recovered enough to finally have something to say about the weekend in gigs...

PC. You guys were pretty good, regardless of the tech difficulties that you had, according to Denis, and the fill in drummer. Generally entertaining. I really think you need some more up tempo songs in your set though. It kind of ends up lagging a bit. Good turn out for you guys too, which was good to see...

I'd never seen DLC before, and I must say I was pretty impressed. Good tight band & sound, great players, and some pretty good catchy songs. My biggest gripe is the very obvious copycat stylings of the singer. Now, I'm as big a fan of Ian Kenny as anyone, but come on, this guy not only had a similar voice and phrasing style, but he was even pulling out all the Kenny mannerisims. It ended up being quite sickening. The annoying thing is that guy actually had a great fucking voice in his own right. If he developed his own sense of character on stage, he'd blow everyone away...

This wasn't one of the best SL performances I have witnessed. I don't know what it was, as they seemed to have played well, and the crowd reaction was great. I just wasn't really feeling it, I guess. Anyway, still good, I've just seen/heard better from them...

Ended up at the Townie with Ben and Luke for drinks afterward. Good times...even though I was really hurting the next day...

Thanks man, your feedback is always appreciated. Yeah I think we all agree that there's a need for a few more of those kind of songs. Granted a lot of the songs were played at a slower pace (especially a new song called 'Teeth' which was played, literally, at half time) but yeah we're definitely working on those elements.

Really looking forward to the Birds of Tokyo show next week, hopefully we'll continue to improve and hopefully the crowd will also be good as well. After we play with Bushido and Nucelus in May we'll take some time off to write a few new songs, which will be fun - we haven't written anything since December/January.

Faaark! It must have been played very slow, the new set just about wipes me out. I thought we had really stepped up tempo wise.
