Grind House

Postby Hitman » Thu Dec 29, 2005 9:43 pm

Grind House is a film expected in 2006. It will consist of two segments, roughly an hour-long each. "Planet Terror" will be a zombie film written and directed by Robert Rodriguez. "Death Proof" will be a slasher film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Between the two segments will be trailers advertising fake films. Tarantino has stated that they plan to shoot fake trailers for a blaxploitation movie, a kung-fu movie, a sexploitation movie and a spaghetti western trailer. The only one he has confirmed is the sexploitation, which will be for a film titled Cowgirls in Sweden.

The only actor that has signed on to the project is John Jarrett (Wolf Creek). The Weinstein Company has slated the film for a September 22nd, 2006 release date. The film is slated to being production in January 2006, but Rodriguez apparently did three days of shooting to get himself excited about it. He believes much of that footage will be in the finished film. Rodriguez's band Chingon will be doing some music for the film.

What isn't speculative, however, is Tarantino's desire to someday make a third "Kill Bill" epic, this time following the story of the Bride's daughter, B.B. (actress Perla Haney-Jardine), when she becomes an adult and confronts the violence that surrounded her youth. "That would be the third one," Tarantino enthused. "I'd have to wait about 10 years. Uma's got to get 10 years older, the little girl has to grow up and everything. And then we'd do the next chapter in the 'Kill Bill' series."

Then there's another long-term project, the tentatively titled "Vega Brothers" film that would team Vincent Vega (John Travolta in "Pulp Fiction") with his brother Vic Vega (Madsen in "Reservoir Dogs") in a prequel-ish story featuring the original actors. "I could do it," Tarantino said. "I've actually figured out a way, even though the characters have gotten older, to do it. I just have to have the ambition to write it."

Goddamit! I just had one of my recurring Zombie nightmares last night and everywhere I go, today, I hear about Zombies :|

Argh... I hate Rose Mcgowan :| ROFL! She gets a gun for a leg? Priceless... I still dislike her acting...

Looks like it's going to be a nice cheesy horror flick like From Dusk Till Dawn ^^b

Anyone ever watch the deleted scenes for From Dusk Till Dawn? :stunned: Those are freaking hilarious XD

Looking forward to this though XD

I love how Quentin always has actors in his movies that are in a lot of his other movies XD That makes the movies even better!

The only actor missing to make this movie brilliant would have been Harvey Kietel. He's my favorite actor of all time!

I'm not too sure about KB:3 though... I'm just wondering how the movie could work but I'm sure if he does do one, it'll be good. I wasn't too crazy about Part 2. Part 1 was brilliant but part 2.. meh... it dragged in a lot of bits and I was disappointed by the ending, the fight was far too fast, granted it was supposed to be due to the move she used to take out Bill. but still it would have been nice to see a really good sword fight ^_^

I LOVE KBII. Easily better than the first film.
I agree with what you said about the ending though. A bit anti climatic...
