This is a documentary shot over seven years which centres around musicians Anton Newcombe, leader of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Courtney Taylor, head of the Dandy Warhols. They started off from the same place as friends and ended up as bitter rivals, one more successful than the other.
It's a fairly harsh confronting look into the reality of being in a band, the absurd characters that choose to be a part of it, and the abominable situations you have to deal with. At times uplifting, with the Dandy's finally reaching the success they so vehemently persued, but mostly sad as you witness Anton's narcissistic drug fuelled self destruction (With a hint of bi polar?). Dig is ultimately engaging, and whilst I am definitely not a fan of either band, or the music they make, I found it extremely enjoyable and fulfilling to watch.
Must see viewing for any musician or music fan...
