Sorry, but my mind concludes things based on logic.

I don't believe in elves and fairies either...

Logic is a tricky thing I studied it at Uni for 3 years and some of it used to melt parts of my brain...was my best subject won't bore you with any of it, changed my life though....

I also don't believe in alot of things based on the evidence that I have been presented so far...but I am more than willing to change my opinions as knew evidence comes to light.

But 100% sure that is a tricky business....that means you can't change your opinions EVER or you wouldn't be 100% sure. No matter in what timeframe (past present or future, perhaps there where elves and fairies in the past? Perhaps there will be in the future?), your location in the universe (Perhaps there is another planet out there with elves and fairies?) or evidence (What happens if they prove there are elves and fairies tommorrow?)

This is the same arguement that I have with hardcore fundamentalists be they athiests or religious extremists...I think both are pretty funny..

Certainty in Logic is a very very fuzzy area...

Not if you are me...

mrkeys wrote:that means you can't change your opinions ever no matter in what timeframe

No it doesn't.

It just means you're 100% sure NOW, based on whatever evidence...

You can trace back to when people made that shit up.
Like Santa Claus is made up.
Like the Easter Bunny.
Like Jesus...

dude I am not getting into a pissing competition. Don't forget you are the one that turned this into personal insults as evidenced from below.

that's insult number 1

Hitman wrote:I'm not surprised...

insult number 2...in another post you said you were not implying that I was stupid what's this? Do you change from post to post is it the messenger again?

Hitman wrote:Pls don't...

I think that might be classified as barb number 3

barb number 4 but not sure...

Hitman wrote:Not if you are me...

um ok....case closed. Well for us mortal men and I am an amoeba compared to some of the dudes currently studying Logic perhaps you can go give them a hand? If you have time.

Hitman wrote:No it doesn't.

I won't even bother to argue the rest of it there are so many logical holes it what was said we would need to start a seperate thread.. If you like Luis to educate yourself (but then again your knowledge of Logic is complete head over to the Macquarie University site on Logic it will give you some pointers, it's really good stuff. I haven't kept up for a long long time but Logic's implications on Language and the Sciences is massive.

Not sure whether that was the final barb or perhaps Humour 1

I am more than happy to keep doing this till the cows come home....if you like we can stretch the Logic part of it out a bit more I can show you the timeframe vs language thing.. actually I won't there is some awesome essay's out there...I just ain't that smart these dudes are and even they find conundrums in Logic....they need you dude!

It might require an email or 2. But there has been some good stuff done by Greg Restall at Macq Uni on it..now that guy is a clever fucker.....
