Well, I listened to the rest of the Nucleus album

I like the title track a lot

The rest is a piece of shit...

Unless they are purposefully (hopefully for comedic reasons) recycling their own riffs.
I have the choice of being constantly active and happy or introspectively passive and sad. Or I can go mad by ricocheting in between. - Sylvia Plath

Pepping Tom - Self Titled

Image

1. Five Seconds (featuring Odd Nosdam)
2. Mojo (featuring Rahzel and Dan the Automator)
3. Don't Even Trip (featuring Amon Tobin)
4. Getaway (featuring Kool Keith)
5. Your Neighborhood Spaceman (featuring Jel and Odd Nosdam)
6. Kill The DJ (featuring Massive Attack)
7. Caipirinha (featuring Bebel Gilberto)
8. Celebrity Death Match (featuring Kid Koala)
9. How U Feelin? (featuring Doseone)
10. Sucker (featuring Norah Jones)
11. We're Not Alone (featuring Dub Trio)

The long awaited (6 years in the making?) "pop" release from the one and only Mike Patton.

Just working my way through it now, and nothing really impressive here.
Reminiscent of the Lovage and Executioners projects.
All the songs are very samey, sticking to the hip hop/r n b formula.
I'm also not a fan of the tone of Pattons voice on this. Sounds a little amatuerish and forced, like he's trying to sound like a gangster rapper or something. The production isn't that great either, compared to other artists from the genre it's trying to imitate.
There are a few shining moments here and there, but I doubt this is going to set the world alight like many predicted.
Standout tracks are probably Mojo, Kill The DJ, and the Norah Jones track Sucker...

Matchbook Romance, which eerily has a song that resembles Chinese Whispers.
Muse - all and everything, can't get enough... Dammit gimme the new album!
I'm also on an 80's binge and uh.. Disney music

And a lot of two or three track wonders, like The Hot Lies, The Living End, Thirsty Merc, The Used, The Vines, The Distillers... ect. Not enough solid material but enough good songs from each to keep my mind busy.

Edit: Uh... there's a theme here... Band name = The [insert word(s)]

Switchkicker - Method 2

Such a shame Dan decided to give up the SK gig, because this album is great, a big step up from 17102. Gone are the overt NIN influences, and in it's place in a much greater sense of melody and experimentation. Shame it's so short though.

Waiting to get some more CDs from Brag, apart from that I just put the shuffle on the ipod and let it do the work. Plus all my CDs are in storage at the moment.
I touched her hand... her hand touched her boob. By the transitive property, I got boob! Algebra's awesome!
