2009 has been a year of action for our Man Of The Year Wayne Coyne and his fellow Flaming Lips. Following on from the October release of double-disc psych-out Embryonic, the band will unleash its next adventure just in time for Christmas.
Just a few months ago, Coyne revealed they were re-making Pink Floyd’s 1973 opus Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety, with help from some friends.
From Tuesday 22 December, The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs With Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing The Dark Side of the Moon is available exclusively through iTunes until 29 December.
To celebrate the release, The Flaming Lips and their hometown buddies Stardeath and White Dwarfs are set to perform Dark Side Of The Moon in full at the New Year’s Eve Freakout! in Oklahoma City. We can think of worse ways to see in 2010.
