Went to the premiere screening of this new aussie film, courtesy of JJJ, on Wednesday night.

I thought I'd end up hating it, but it was actually really enjoyable.

If anyone has seen Gus Van Sants "To Die For", starring Nicole Kidman, it's reminiscent of that, stylewise, but with an obvious aussie flavour.

The main actress, Emily Barclay, was absolutely fantastic in her role as Katrina...

Afterwards we headed to @Newtown for the after party, which featured an open bar (WOO HOO!!) and a set by Magic Dirt (Who feature on the soundtrack). Got to brush shoulders with the likes of Alex Dimitriades and Joel Edgerton...

I have never been much of a fan of Magic Dirt, but they fucking rocked on Wednesday. Adalita was really in her element. Great performance from a tight diverse band, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again some day soon...

I love Magic Dirt!

I didn't get that many good photos (hardly any) due to a culmination of the shit lighting and my inebriation....

But I'll put some up soon.

I just can't get into Magic Dirt, no matter how much I listen to it, it still annoys the shit out of me. This film, on the other hand, I'm very keen to see, I've heard great things. Check the Brag next week for an interview with Emily Barclay and the director.
