The Locus Scene: Recording Sessions Diary

A murder of crows

The Locus Scene: Recording Sessions Diary

Postby Hitman » Mon Apr 10, 2006 2:42 pm

Just thought I'd start a little journal, to let everyone know where we are at.

At this point we are not exactly sure what type of release we are looking at, wether it will just be a promo thing, or an EP. You never know, it might even end up being an album! Having said that, at the moment we are focusing on 4 - 5 songs.

Guitar work by Troy and myself was finished up last week.
We are currently in the process of tracking bass and vocals. The songs which are almost complete are:

Chinese Whispers
Tuanis
The Crowded Room
Welcome Matt

Chinese Whispers just needs drums, as do all the songs.
The other 3 need vocals done, the most difficult which will be Welcome Matt, due to the many vocal parts and harmonies, which will feature guest female backing vocals..
Tuanis still needs bass done, which will be performed by a guest doublebass player.

We are looking at having all these tracks done by the end of the month, ready to enter the studio with Stassy to lay down the drums, which should be a fucking breeze for that seasoned pro...

;)

Then mixing and mastering (Studios still to be chosen, but we have a few options available to us) will be done very soon after that. So I guess we're looking to have something ready by the end of May, and available for your listening pleasure by June.

THERE. JUNE. I've now set a deadline, so it HAS to happen...

The second half of 06 will be a very exciting time for TLS.
