So I thought I'd start a thread to give people an insight into this side of The Locus Scene...
I'll start with my live guitar rig setup:
Both the guitars are in standard tuning for The Locus Scene. I just switch them around depending on what sort of tone I want for a particular style of song. For The Merkins and Shanghai I only used the Rickenbacker. In Shanghai it was standard tuning with the Low E dropped to D. In the Merkins we'd tune the whole thing down to D, then again drop the Low D to C.
The JCM 900 has been my constant companion over the years, rarely leaving my side on stage. In The Locus Scene it is my main source of distortion, and my only one in Shanghai. With the Merkins it is the Big Muff all the way. I also love the reverb on this amp, and use it extensively in all my projects.
The pedal setup is what I have now. It has been added to and taken away from over the years. I'm pretty happy with how it is. The newest additions are the Danelectro's and The Rat. In the Merkins the main pedal is the Big Muff. I also use some Wah, and Delay. In Shanghai I only used a little Wah and Delay. I basically had too much going on technically in the music to be able to concentrate on switching pedals as well.
