The Locus Scene: Recording Sessions Diary

A murder of crows

Postby Hitman » Thu Jul 12, 2007 10:41 pm

Now currently working on the rest of the album tracks.

Guitars and keys are pretty much completed for Tristessa, Postcards & Suicide Notes, Bring it Down, Jupiter Majeski, Opal Mantra, Sublime and Princess Damn Divine...

Tracking Bass guitar this weekend...

Mark and my vocals will probably be tracked the week after that...and then it's into the studio with Stassy for the drums...

Still a bit of work to be done on a potential "interlude" track titled "Afternoon Tea..."

Also need to track a horn section for Postcards, which will feature Davin and Grant on Alto & Tenor sax respectively, form Shanghai, as well as Trumpet and Baritone sax...

It's all finally beginning to come together, and full steam ahead. Can't wait to have this fucker done and out there...

So it the recording of drums went well? Although there seems to be a few concerned looks in some of the photos. Or are those pensive thoughtful expressions?

Who's the bald dude?

Why does Stassy always look like a sex goddess when she's near a drum-kit?

I like the black & white aesthetic. And the border stuff with whatever you call it underneath.
Very nice. :D

Just deep thought and focus. We didn't want to leave anything to chance. Stassy put in a stellar, yet quite demanding (Almost grueling) session...poor thing ended up with some nasty blisters...

Val Calocerinos...the owner of the studio, who engineered the sessions. Great guy...I highly recommend working with him...
