I just thought I'd let you all know that Mark, Stassy and I have mutually decided to part ways with Troy.

That is, as of today, Troy Thompson is no longer a part of The Locus Scene.

I guess the important thing to point out is that we are not breaking up (...this actually never even entered the equation), will continue recording for our debut release, and nothing much will change, other than the obvious fact that we will be introducing a new member, eventually.

The 3 of us together are extremely positive about the future of TLS, and believe that this will be a major turn for the better...

You know, I think the main thing holding the band back is the name "The Locus Scene". It's not a name that grabs people's attention or rolls off the tongue. Hell, when I first heard the name, I thought it was "The Locust Scene".

Perhaps, with the change of line up, there can be a change of the band name too? Maybe keep the initials TLS, but have it stand for something more captivating. A name that will make people go "Fuck yeah, I want to see this band!"

That's just my opinion, but I'm sure some other people probably agree.
