Gerhardt (Jerry) Fuchs, drummer for the The Juan Maclean, Maserati, Turing Machine and !!! has died after attempting to escape from a broken elevator.
Fuchs, 34, had been attending a benefit party for the Uniform Project, which raises money for education in India, at a former noodle factory now used as a residential loft space in Williamsburg.
According to eyewitnesses Fuchs “was trying to jump out of a broken elevator when a piece of his clothing caught on something. He then fell five stories, to the bottom of the shaft.”
He was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.

Yeah. I actually felt sick reading it.
I'm not overly familiar with the bands he drummed for but it's still pretty upsetting.
